During the session, participants had the opportunity to receive practical information about women’s rights and the protection mechanisms available in cases of domestic violence and violence against women.
The topics covered included:
• women’s rights and access to justice;
• protection measures available for survivors of violence;
• divorce procedures and related legal aspects;
• determination of a minor child’s place of residence;
• child maintenance (alimony) and parental responsibilities;
• available local support services and how to access them.
The session was held in an open and participatory environment, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers tailored to the challenges women face in their daily lives.
Through activities such as this, the Ophelia Public Association contributes to increasing women’s awareness of their rights, strengthening their capacity to protect those rights, and promoting safer and better-informed communities.
