Legal advice

Legal advice is provided through the legal adviser of the Ophelia Women’s Resilience Center and the lawyers with whom it collaborates. This service is offered free of charge, upon request, in situations associated with separation from an abusive spouse, custody of children, division of common property, obtaining a restraining order, protective order, criminal prosecution of domestic abusers, and other related situations.

Legal counseling involves informing and guiding the victim regarding:

      • the legal steps she can take to ensure her and the children’s protection
      • obtaining the legal rights due to her
      • the procedure for opening a court action
      • drawing up the necessary evidentiary instruments in court

Within the limits of the Center’s financial resources, direct representation in court is selectively ensured, by contracting the services of lawyers.
