During the session, participants received practical information about their rights, access to legal assistance, and the support services available to women experiencing domestic violence or other forms of abuse.
The discussion covered the following key topics:
• the different forms of violence and their impact on women and children;
• women’s legal rights and the available protection mechanisms;
• the procedure for obtaining a protection order;
• legal aspects related to divorce, determining the child’s place of residence, and child maintenance (child support);
• support services and the institutions women can turn to for assistance.
The session was interactive, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and receive legal guidance tailored to the specific situations they may face.
By organizing these information sessions, the Ophelia Public Association aims to increase women’s awareness of their rights, promote access to justice, and strengthen mechanisms for preventing and combating violence.
