In the village of Slobozia Mare, Cahul District, the Public Association Ophelia organized an information session for women on 7 July 2026.

During the session, participants learned more about women’s rights, legal protection mechanisms, and the support services available to women experiencing domestic violence or other forms of violence.

The session was held in an open and interactive atmosphere, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance and explanations tailored to their individual situations.

The following topics were covered during the session:

• women’s rights and available protection mechanisms;

• legal protection measures for victims of violence;

• the procedure for obtaining a protection order;

• legal aspects related to divorce, determining the residence of a minor child, and child maintenance;

• available support services and the institutions women can turn to for assistance.

Through activities such as these, Ophelia contributes to increasing women’s awareness of their rights, facilitating access to legal information, and fostering a safer environment for women and the community.
