The Ophelia Center has completed the information sessions dedicated to the topic “Psychological Violence – Recognition and Response,” carried out between March 18, 2025, and April 9, 2026, with the participation of young women from six educational institutions in the municipality of Cahul.
The project was implemented in two complementary stages. The first stage focused on the prevention and recognition of forms of psychological and digital violence, as well as the development of response and self-protection skills. The second stage explored topics related to romantic relationships, mechanisms of abusive behavior, factors that contribute to its normalization, and its emotional impact on young women.
During the activities, participants were guided to identify early signs of control and manipulation in relationships through interactive methods, practical exercises, and age-appropriate audiovisual materials. The digital environment was also addressed, with an emphasis on forms of abuse and available protection mechanisms, including support resources.
In total, 40 group sessions were conducted, involving 496 young women. The activities contributed to increasing awareness, strengthening the ability to identify abusive behaviors, and developing personal boundary-setting skills.
The Ophelia Center ensured a safe and confidential environment conducive to free expression and access to support, fostering a climate of trust and respect. The results highlight the relevance and necessity of continuing such initiatives. The Ophelia Center reaffirms its commitment to developing and implementing sustainable programs aimed at the safety, well-being, and empowerment of young women.
