Ophelia Center provides specialized legal counseling services to women affected by domestic violence and gender-based violence. The services are free of charge, provided upon request, and delivered in a safe, confidential, and empathetic environment.

Through these services, the Ophelia Center supports women in understanding and exercising their rights, accessing legal protection mechanisms, and regaining their safety, autonomy, and confidence in the justice process.
Legal services include:
- Legal information and guidance regarding women’s legal rights and the types of assistance that can be requested and obtained;
- Support in obtaining an Emergency Restriction Order and a Protection Order as immediate safety measures;
- Initiation of civil, administrative (contraventional), or criminal proceedings, depending on the specifics of each case;
- Legal counseling throughout the examination of the case, including explanations of legal procedures and the steps to be followed;
- Representation of beneficiaries’ interests in courts and before law enforcement bodies, through the collaboration of the Ophelia Association with a Law Office.
Through these services, the Ophelia Center supports women in understanding and exercising their rights, accessing legal protection mechanisms, and regaining their safety, autonomy, and confidence in the justice process.
